Eastern Columbia

The Eastern Columbia project is among Kor Group’s highest profile undertakings. The building, located in downtown Los Angeles’ Historic Core, is one of the city’s most photographed structures, and a world-renowned Art Deco landmark. In 2004, Kor acquired the tower, a one-time department store built in 1930, and managed the entitlement and careful historic rehabilitation, design and later, the sales and marketing efforts of its 143 loft residences. Kor installed an expansive rooftop terrace with a gracious pool, dramatically positioned beneath the building’s iconic clock tower. Kor’s adaptive reuse of Eastern Columbia has been recognized with numerous awards including the Los Angeles Conservancy’s 2008 Preservation Award and California Construction Magazine’s Best Redevelopment in 2007. Additional amenities enjoyed by carefully vetted residents include a fitness center, spa, sun deck and outdoor fireplace.
