Barker Block

Los Angeles is widely renowned for its innovative, world-class arts scene, and nowhere in the city has that scene coalesced more than in the downtown Arts District. In the heart of this thriving artistic community sits Barker Block, a historic industrial building now boasting 310 cutting edge live/work lofts. Anticipating the potential of this now-thriving neighborhood, Kor acquired the former warehouse in 2004 and directed the entitlement, design, and gut renovation, transforming the historic property into modern one-of-a-kind live/work spaces. Even before the project’s completion, with Kor’s experienced leadership, celebrities, artists, and style luminaries were drawn to the project, purchasing units and effectively selling out Phase One. A rooftop pool, fitness center, and outdoor courtyard are just a few of the striking features of this discreetly high profile landmark. The project also includes retail and restaurant space. Among the current occupants is contemporary eatery Urth CaffĂ©. A soon-to-be-announced restaurant concept by Bill Chait will round out the culinary offerings. Kor was engaged by nationally lauded investment firm, CityView to oversee construction, design, and sales and marketing efforts.

Kor exceeded revenue proforma goals by 40%, by devising a game changing, strategic, sales and marketing program that delivered multiple offers on every single home.
